bollywood

A fun, expressive & diverse dance style inspired by Indian Cinema and culture, Bollywood Dance is known for its dramatic, romantic and energetic style.
Its unique style fuses and derives from roots of traditional dance forms such as Kathak, Bharatanatyam and unites modern forms like Jazz, Bhangra, Hip-Hop and more.

Originating in South Korea, K Pop is a dance style that blends hip hop, jazz funk, commercial dance, house and more to the catchy, trendy & addictive melodies of Korean pop music. The exciting variety of songs K Pop offers includes softer soulful songs inviting Contemporary dance influences and edgy urban sounds to incorporate street elements.

HIP HOP

An expressive & stylish form of dance that unwraps your personality and builds your self-confidence. Mixing choreography with street movements & freestyle, come and learn the cultured & diverse sub-styles of Hip Hop such as tutting, popping, locking and more. 

Hip Hop is one of the most popular, commercial and influential dance styles today.

A historical, beautiful and graceful cultural dance form, Bellydance originated from the Middle East and focuses on muscle isolations, hip articulations and a mixture of both percussive and fluid movements. 

A low-impact and great healthy exercise to work on the core, hips, shoulders and flexibility, Bellydance can help dance enthusiasts tone their muscles, improve posture, increase cardio activity and feel alive!

PRIVATE CLASS

(1 on 1)

A private dance class is 1 on 1 involving 1 student & 1 instructor only.

These are tailored to your dance style choice,

dance level & experience and goals.

Students can learn different styles/levels of

choreography or select a song of their choice per month. 

This mode is recommended for dancers who are feeling shy or intimidated to come to public classes and/or for students who have a dance background looking to improve and develop their skills significantly.

HOW are dance classes structured?

In all dance classes, we begin with a nice stretch & warm-up to get our bodies moving and blood circulation going.

Then, we work with understanding basic isolations and techniques which can later be applied to movement & choreography. It enables dancers to connect with their bodies and polish their ability to freestyle outside of class. 

Afterwards, we learn a routine or choreography based on the class’s dance style and level.

Finally, we perform our routine in either small groups or all together - participants can use this opportunity to film the routine to practice at home!

Everyone & anyone! If you are looking to dance for fun, exercise, learn a new skill or bring friends and simply party,

Alisha B’s dance classes are open to all levels, backgrounds and genders.

 

To find out which class level is most suitable for you, please take a look at our DANCE LEVEL descriptions below. All dance levels listed below are applicable to the dance styles we offer unless specified otherwise.

INTRO
LEVEL

For students who have no/little dance experience.
 

For students who don’t understand the dance style and want to try it.
 

Basic repetitive steps & moves are put into a combination or sequence.
 

Classes are 45 mins each.

Beginner
LEVEL

For students who have little/minimal dance experience.

For students who understand the dance style but want to integrate & improve their technique.

Basic simple choreography with single counts.

Classes are 45-60 mins each. Duration varies with dance style.

intermediate level

For students who have basic knowledge & regular dance experience looking to grow & challenge themselves.

For students who understand technique, isolation & choreography.

For students looking to polish & improve their freestyle dance skills.

For students looking to pursue professional dance performance training.

Intermediate choreography with a mixture of single and half counts.

Classes are 60 mins each. 

Duration varies with pop up seasonal and holiday workshops.

advanced
level

For students who have well-trained and semi-professional experience looking for continuous polishing, growth and improvement.

For students who are comfortable with freestyle.

For students looking to pursue professional performance training and consider joining shows & live performances.

Advanced & harder choreography with mainly half counts and single counts occasionally.

Classes are 60 mins each. 

Duration varies with pop up seasonal and holiday workshops.

open
level

These classes are a mixture of levels and caters to students who are eager for spontaneity; part of the choreography taught will be very easy & simple whereas other portions can be considered harder & more challenging. 

Recommended for students with regular dance experience and awareness of stretching, isolation & technique. 

Classes are 60 mins each. 

Duration varies with pop up seasonal and holiday workshops.

WHERE do you teach your dance classes?

Classes are available in both Kowloon and Hong Kong Island.

 

All dance classes are conducted in a dance studio that is professional, well-ventilated, clean with high quality mirrors and speakers for better dance experience & enjoyment. All dance class venues are also well equipped with clean and comfortable toilets. We always select studios that allow sports footwear indoors for extra safety. Students can choose to dance with socks or bare feet if preferred.

For private, semi-private and private group classes, clients and students can also choose to have their classes at their own building’s function/multi-purpose room given that there is a mirror and working sound system.
